Experimental Percussive Resonance with Tatsuya Nakatani

We’re thrilled to welcome back avant-garde percussionist, composer and sound artist Tatsuya Nakatani for an evening of resonant sounds. An extensive touring and recording artist with more than 80 recordings to date, Nakatani creates his distinctive music through his own invention of an adapted bowed gong, supported by an array of drums, cymbals and singing bowls. Join us at 7 p.m., Friday, September 24, inside the garage of Likewise Community in downtown Fayetteville for a masked and socially distanced night of connection through resonant sounds. It's time to celebrate the release of Amends with cellist/composer Matt Magerkurth this Saturday, August 7, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Perrodin Supply Co. in Springdale. In addition to Matt playing the entire album, we'll have food and drinks on hand from Ozark Natural Foods and brand new artwork from Kalyn Fay Barnoski on display. New Movement at Mount Sequoyah

We’re thrilled to partner with dance collective BODYSONNET for their site specific work “New Movement at Mount Sequoyah" featuring a live score created by composer Amos Cochran with COVID-safe outdoor performances at 7:30 pm both Saturday, May 29, & Sunday, May 30, up on magical Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville. "New Movement at Mount Sequoyah" will be created from interviews with local residents about their memories of Mount Sequoyah and their lives in the Ozarks. Words, voices, and memories are collaged together through dance, music, and theatre for an immersive outdoor performance as part of the collective’s artist residency at Mount Sequoyah throughout the month of May. Along with creating a new work, the group will offer free community dance jams 7 p.m. on the third and fourth Saturdays of May to connect with the Fayetteville community. BODYSONNET is a collective of contemporary dance makers dedicated to providing communities unique and inclusive performance experiences that highlight the intersection of artistic mediums. All events are accessible to all abilities.

1,000 Cranes For Peace: A Pop-Up Event at Likewise Community

We’ve had quite the winter weather situation, so we’ve moved the 1,000 cranes for peace pop-up event to Sunday, Feb. 28, from 3-6 p.m. In addition to a donations bar, we’ll have live music from cellist Matt Magerkurth performing with singer-songwriter Kalyn Fay plus a set from contemporary music group Thought Form Collective. Did we mention door prizes from our sponsors Little Mountain Bindery and Shindig Paperie, who donated origami paper for our community-led art installation? This all takes place in the historic garage of Likewise Community in downtown Fayetteville. The event is free and open to the public, with donations accepted. We just ask that you RSVP via this link! As a reminder, we’re following CDC pandemic guidelines, so masks are required for this socially distanced outdoor event! We can’t wait to unveil the 1,000 cranes installation - which feature cranes from not just throughout Arkansas, but also Massachusetts, Texas, Kentucky and New York.

1,000 cranes for peace, folded by all of us!

Long a symbol of good luck and peace, legend has it that 1,000 origami cranes folded will usher in peace and good will. Trillium seeks 1,000 cranes folded by all of us for a public installation at Likewise Community in Fayetteville to be unveiled with a pop-in event at their garage from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, February 28, featuring performances from contemporary ensemble Thought Form Collective and cellist/composer Matt Magerkurth with singer-songwriter Kalyn Fay. Plus door prizes from our partners at Shindig Paperie and Little Mountain Bindery who’ve each donated paper for folding origami cranes.
